Beasley Miami / Maroone’s Scholar Athlete of the Month OFFICIAL RULES
1. HOW TO ENTER
a. The Maroone’s Scholar Athlete of the Month Recognition Award will begin August 26, 2011 and end June 8, 2012. b. To participate, nominate a student athlete at sfhighschoolsports.com. Must know student’s name, grade, school, sport, position, game statistics, grade point average and write a biography on student athlete’s qualifications for winning the award. Nominee must have accumulative 3.0 GPA weighted or un-weighted to qualify for award.

2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
a. The recognition award is open to all Beasley Miami listeners who are eligible high school athletes who reside in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and/or Monroe counties. Must possess a valid eligible student ID
b. Employees of Maroone AutoNation, Beasley Miami / Beasley-Reed Acquisition Partnership, its licensee, its parent corporation, their affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Miami-Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.
c. Student scholar athletes are eligible to receive a Beasley Miami monthly recognition award one time only, however, a monthly award recipient is eligible for Student Athlete of the Year award. All award hereunder are payable only to the scholar student athlete’s high school.

3. Awards
a. Recognition Award: $1,000 award in the name of the monthly scholar student athlete awarded to their respective high school. Recognition Award of the Year: $5,000 award in the name of the scholar student athlete to their respective high school.
b. All monthly recognition awards and the recognition of the year award will be delivered by Beasley Miami & Maroone directly to the principal or the athletic director at the designated high school.
c. Awards are not transferable.
d. There will be 9 scholarship athletes of the month – one each month from August 26, 2011 and end June 8, 2012.
e. In June 2011 we will take nominations for the student scholar athlete of the year to be open to all nominees including the prior month award recipients but not limited to the monthly award recipients. Prior month recipients must be re-nominated to be eligible for the Student-Athlete of the Year.

4. SELECTION OF SCHOLAR ATHLETES
a. A student-scholar athlete of the month will be chosen monthly, on a date determined by the judging panel during the duration of the contest, by no later than the Second Wednesday of following month.
b. The Student Scholar Athlete of the month will be chosen from all entries by a panel of high school sports experts.
c. The Student Scholar Athlete of the year will be chosen from all entries all monthly nominees will automatically be eligible for Student-Athlete of the Year by a panel of high school sports experts.
d. Judges will consider game performance, grade point average and student’s character when determining the monthly and final recognition award recipients. Nominee must have accumulative 3.0 GPA weighted or un-weighted to qualify for award. Decisions of judges with respect to the recipients of the student athlete of the month and the year are at their sole discretion and are final. Decisions require only a majority of judges votes and do not need to be unanimous. In the event of a tie, Beasley Miami shall make the final decision as to the recipient selection.
e. Student Scholar Athletes need not be present for the award determination. Student Scholar Athletes, parents and high school will be notified by Beasley Miami. If the student athlete and/or his/her high school cannot be contacted within 30 days after the recognition award is awarded, an alternate student athlete recipient will be selected.
f. Student Scholar Athletes of the month and year will have their GPA’s confirmed by the Athletic Director and/or Principal or recognized member of the administration prior to designated high school receiving award
g. Decisions of station management with respect to the recipients of the student athlete of the month and the year are final.

5. NOMINATIONS of NOMINEES
a. Nomination can be made by anyone… student athlete, teacher, coach, administration, etc.

b. Nominees however must be eligible athletes in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach or Monroe Counties.
c. Each month is a separate and final award period. Nominations do not roll over to other months. To be eligible, scholar athlete must be nominated between the first day and last day of each given month. Scholar athletes can be nominated in multiple months.
d. To be eligible for consideration during any month, a nomination must be received by the last day of that given month..

6. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
a. Taxes and Liability: Payment of all federal, state and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the Student Athlete award recipient’s School. Recognition award amount will be reported to the Internal Revenue Service and school can expect to receive a 1099 tax form. As a condition to receiving the award money the High School of the student Athlete recipient agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Maroone Auto Group, AutoNation Inc., Beasley Miami / Beasley-Reed Acquisition Partnership, its corporate licensee, its corporate parent, and each of their affiliated companies and/or subsidiaries and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the recognition award or participation in the program.
b. c. By participating in this program, student scholar athlete agrees to have his or her name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this program without additional financial or other compensation.
d. Student scholar Athletes (and their guests or travel companions, if any) will be required to sign a liability release and a publicity release. The student scholar athletes will agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Maroone Auto Group, AutoNation Inc., Beasley Miami / Beasley-Reed Acquisition Partnership, its corporate licensee, its corporate parent, and each of their affiliated companies and/or subsidiaries and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the recognition award or participation in the program.
e. Beasley Miami will be excused from its obligation to air the award if its performance is delayed or prevented due to causes beyond its control, including, but not limited to acts of God, public enemies, war, civil disorder, fire, flood, hurricanes, explosion, labor disputes or strikes, and any acts by any governmental authority.
f. The Maroone Auto Group, AutoNation Inc.,Beasley Miami, its corporate licensee and parent corporation and subsidiaries of such corporations thereof, are not responsible for failure to conduct or for alterations to the program due to circumstances beyond the control of any such entity.
g. Beasley Miami reserves the right to end this program or amend these rules upon announcement on air or publication at Beasley Miami.com.
h. Beasley Miami reserves the right to make changes to the rules of the program, including the substitution of a recognition award amount and number of awards which will become effective upon announcement.
i. Awards are awarded ‘as is’ with no guarantees or warranties as to use. Acceptance of a awards releases the Maroone Auto Group, AutoNation Inc, Beasley Miami, its sponsors and advertisers from all liability and claims concerning the award, its delivery, and its use.
j. The Maroone Auto Group, AutoNation Inc and Beasley Miami is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the program or in the announcement of the award.
k. By participating in this program, nominees and their high schools agree to be bound by these rules. Failure to comply with the program rules may result in a nominee’s disqualification, at the sole discretion of Beasley Miami.
l. Any materials submitted become the property of the station and will not be returned.
m. No purchase is necessary. The program is void where prohibited. Programs and promotions subject to all federal, state and local laws.
n. Copies of the written rules and a list of all student athletes of the month and year are available during regular business hours at the main studio of Beasley Miami, 194 NW 187th Street Miami, FL 33169, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Beasley Miami.

7. INTERNET RULES
a. Station is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the Internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.
b. Recognition award participants using the Internet must provide a valid email address.
c. Beasley Miami and sponsors not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone or other transmission failures of any kind; lost or unavailable network connections; or incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions whether caused by Beasley Miami, users, by any equipment or programming utilized in promotions, games or contests, or by human error which may occur in the processing of submissions, which may limit a participant’s ability to participate.
d. Beasley Miami reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend a program, promotion, game or contest should a virus, bug, computer or other problem beyond the control of the station corrupt the administration, security or proper execution of game or contest. Beasley Miami, in its sole discretion, may award scholar athlete of the month and year to entries received by alternate means. All Internet participants agree to be bound by these rules, and the Official General Rules appearing above.
e. To enter online, you must enter your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, zip code, home telephone number and a valid email address in the online entry form. One Internet entry per person and one Internet entry per email address. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible by assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address.
f. Beasley Miami, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Beasley Miami website or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. The station further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
