    We received a letter last week from a local coach who wanted to remind me that this is the time of year that colleges across the country pay close attention to the talent in South Florida.

    Monsignor Edward Pace High School won their first boy's state basketball championship in 1996. That was the genesis of an unbelievable stretch for the Spartans. Recently named head coach Anthony Serro is all to familiar with the success achieved by the private school located in Opa-locka, Florida.

    "There is no doubt, that the expectations around here are high, and that is extremely exciting," said Serro. "The goals have been high here at Pace, and I love it."
